Telling tales: sharing humorous education stories to enhance teacher wellbeing and learning

Sharing personal teaching stories provides opportunities for enhanced wellbeing and learning both experienced pre-service teachers. This paper shares the results of a qualitative pilot study that used narrative inquiry to collect share teacher stories. The research was conducted in two phases. first phase collected humorous from teachers recalled years their career. Thematic data analysis investigated impact on those when sharing second invited read evaluate preparing school placements. reading these phases demonstrated recurring themes regarding importance teacher-student relationships wellbeing. also showed had beneficial outcomes such as storytellers readers. evidence inclusion real-life offers valuable addition Initial Teacher Education programs way developing professional reflective practice.
